Do you ever feel overwhelmed and not know where to start? Some simple organization of your workspace may get the creative juices flowing. While in the midst of the pandemic I used the extra time to tackle a few home projects that have been on my list for YEARS!
The first was organizing our kitchen pantry, then the laundry room, and finally the living room. By buying clear plastic containers, installing cabinets, and installing some flooring my entire home felt more comfortable. It later spurred into creating a home garage workshop to allow for easier access to tools and space.
As these projects wrapped up, new projects started to make the list. The creative juices were now flowing and the ideas keep coming. This simple strategy is the power of momentum. Complete one task and roll into the next one with more confidence and exuberance.
This goes for anything in life, momentum will get you up the hill faster. Ned Overend (top American MTB pro for decades), talks about the “big mo” in his book, “Mountain Bike Like a Champion.” I remember reading that when I was early in my MTB’ing career. It stuck and I try to carry momentum into every hill, out of every turn, and through tough rocky sections.
Just like in life, a little momentum can go a long way. Why not find some time to organize one thing in your life and see how the momentum can carry you forward. It could be as simple as your desk you’re sitting at right now, your car console, your nightstand drawer, anything to get you going in the right direction.
The power of momentum can carry you beyond what you thought was possible.
