Happy New Year! It’s 2019, time to start over, time to set up new resolutions. Did you achieve the resolutions you set out to do a year ago? Don’t worry if you didn’t, most people did not achieve them. As a matter of fact, only about 10% of Americans actually do achieve their resolutions they set out to do at the beginning of the year. The question is, what stopped you? What was the holdup?

Process Goals

Most of the time we go at it the wrong way. We try to change a behavior that we have been doing for months or even years. So instead of trying to make a drastic change or big resolution, let’s make a plan, a strategy to get you to your outcome. We refer to this as process goals. We breakdown that goal into smaller bite-sized bits and formulate a strategy to get you there.

Process goals should be smaller, attainable goals. They are the small wins that lead us to that big victory. Do you think our professional athletes just say they want to win a world championship, a big fight, a golf tournament, etc. That is the big goal, but with the aid of their skill coaches, dietitians, sport psychologists and others, we formulate a plan and strategy to get them to their outcome goal.

We help the athlete build momentum through recognition of the process. As a matter of fact, the process becomes the driver of our daily lives. Of course if we could snap our fingers and get to the end that would be awesome, but then what? What do we need to do to achieve the next goal? Another finger snap? We know this isn’t reality so what is it? What is it going to take to get to that 25lbs. weight loss? Nutrition, exercise, consistency, sleep, etc? We help you set up and develop a strategy to get you there. We develop a process and a schedule.
